Did increase prices slightly for the spring season. Will need assistance with coverage for running the stand when Lori’s son has away games. Need to have more checks and balances to keep better track of the money for concession sales. Highlands: If she can get permission to put banners on the Highlands field fence, she will begin trying to sell banner sponsors in the Highlands area. Fundraising: Looking for grants that may benefit the club. There is one sponsored by NIKE, the deadline is soon and it requires a financial statement along with 5013C letter. Tony to get with Danny to try and get this done in time. The club goals for this grant will be: 5 % increase in total number of children participating, to offer scholarships for registration (year-round), goals for new fields, Spanish language brochures for advertising. TEKK--$900.00. Will provide 3-4 sets of first year goals, 5ft by 8 ft. The second year will provide full size goals. Tony to look into this and get more information for the board. After some discussion, it was decided that in regards to banner sales, that the $180.00 price will be a firm price for each year. Tony presented several other types of fundraising possibilities. Will continue to look into them. Possibility of some type of grant from Chamber of Commerce since we will be bringing in people from out of town for games. Web page: Chris is working on the site. Will hopefully have it completed in approximately two weeks. The address will be: maconsoccer.org. He needs a list of soccer links and organization to be put on the page. Some suggestions made were: ncsoccer.org, FIFA, Challenge Sports, U.S. soccer, Positive Coach. There will be a PDF form on the site for registration. President’s Report/old & new business: Tony to meet with Jeff Weller to work on the long term design. UP may possibly be able to donate for field renovations. Irrigation: Matt working with Landscape Developing Group on this situation. Clarke will also give a bid. The filter system is in. The first week of April will get things charged and running. Received two bids, the first for the large field, the second bid for everything else. When the Recreation Board meets next week will put the bids in for next year’s budget. The soccer club will be responsible for grading. The county paid for the filtration system. Still need two sprinkler heads. Can purchase for approximately $40.00. Will purchase and put them in during April. Plugging fields: May possibly get the county to do this job. Held a goalkeepers clinic, and will have a second one March 19th. Spring season: have approximately 40 players registered so far, and 5 registered in Highlands. Possibly advertise in Clayton, Georgia to have players in that area come and register to play in the fall. Meeting adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
