Board Meeting Minutes

August 20th, 2008 

Members present were: Jeff Weller, Tony Esterwood, Janet Pruitt, Deanne Opperman, Michelle Thornton, Chris Thornton, Charlena Cline, and Frank Cline. 

Recreation Meeting

Jeff Weller made a motion to approve July's board meeting minutes and Tony Esterwood second the motion.

Rabun Gap donated two large soccer goals to the Macon County Soccer Club.

The following soccer board positions are still vacant:  Head Referee, Referee Assigner, Field Coordinator, and Equipment.

Peppermint Patties Ice Cream Shop was willing to come to our round robin day and donate a percentage of their sales to the soccer club. Tony Esterwood made a motion and Chris Thornton second the motion. The board voted yes.

Deanne Opperman will be discussing soccer pictures with Marlene Lane.

Also, we are discussing the possible purchase of soccer decals to sell as a fundraiser.  We are checking the prices with Gooder Grafix and other companies.

The soccer club received a check from the Bi-lo cards for $19.48.

The fields account balance was $2,098.98, the challenge account balance was $6,165.24, and the recreation account balance was $17,391.12.

We had around 315 players register for fall recreation soccer.

When we accept registration forms without the birth certificate and money it creates a tremendous amount of unnecessary work. The only exception would be for returning players with a birth certificate already on file. Charlena Cline made the motion to no longer accept a registration form without the money and birth certificate. Chris Thornton second it. The board voted yes.

Some referee shirts were ordered.
