April 13, 2006                          Macon County Soccer Club Board Meeting

Present:  Chris Cutshaw, Beverly Stribling, Jeff Weller, Matt Maple, Matt Bullis, Jason Casada, Danny Knop, Tony Esterwood

Meeting called to order at 7:40 p.m.  Minutes from the previous meeting reviewed.  Motion by Jason, second by Matt M. to accept, all approved.

Treasurer’s Report:

Field account:                            $4,137.15

Recreation account:                   $9,265.31

Challenge account:                     $5,557.06

Jeff Weller presented a drawing of future plans for the soccer fields.  The plan included having area in front of concession stand all one level with picnic shelter area, and additional parking above with a path to the fields.  Storage shed in the corner of Industrial Park Road and Industrial Park Loop.  Another picnic area for the fields closer to the baseball field.  Each field has alternate directions for play so that goal areas can be given a rest.  There is also a walking path around the fields. Jeff stated that Hank Ross should be able to give an approximate cost of the improvements, so that work can be done in phases.  The plans were given to Tony.

Concessions:

Overall, things are going well with the spring season.  Since only one game is scheduled for April 22, and one for April 23, decision was made to not open for that weekend.

Site:  maconsoccer.org

Chris needs graphics for the site.

The site is up and we can now copy and paste to it.  He will create a “How to” handout for board members. User name: mcsc,  password: happiness

Irrigation:

Jeff Willingham came and charged to system on Tuesday.  Also put in two new heads.  It was programmed to run for 45 minutes, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in the mornings.  As of today, it was still running.  Matt B. cut it off.  Jeff to return to help rewire and get back on schedule.  Still a lot of dirt in the lines from before having the filter, so may need to flush it out.

President’s report:

All board members need to register on line with NVYSA risk management before we can reregister as a club.

TEKK Corporate Sponsorship:

After reviewing the information, a motion by Matt B. and seconded by Beverly was made to not participate. All approved.

ILC-Team Sports Online

By going through their site and buying products from participating companies, the club may receive donations. Matt B made a motion that the company send information to board members first so that we can see how this works. The board can choose to give this information to coaches and players. Motion seconded by Matt B.  All approved.  If we choose to participate can link their site to ours for players parents to participate.

Tony presented a draft of a letter Rabun County Recreation Department to invite the county to enroll recreational teams with our club during the fall season. Included in the letter was the possibility of having someone from their county be on the board to help with communication.  Motion by Matt B. to send the letter, seconded by Chris, all approved.

Meeting adjourned at 9:15 p.m.

Beverly Stribling
